LAB NOTE 04 / Maternity
Changing skin. Honest expectations.
What a comforting daily ritual can—and cannot—promise.
Can a butter prevent stretch marks?
Your skin is adapting.
Stretch marks are a common part of body change. A skin-conditioning routine can be a moment of comfort and attention, without treating the marks as a personal failure.
No guaranteed prevention.
Dermatology guidance does not support promising that oils or butters will prevent or erase stretch marks. A rich texture and pleasant massage experience should be described for what they are, separately from an unproven prevention claim.
Make the ingredient list part of the conversation.
Share the complete formulation with your maternity clinician, especially when you have allergies or sensitive skin. Pregnancy and breastfeeding suitability is product- and person-specific; natural origin is not a guarantee of safety.
